Hello there! My name is Shannon and I’m the crazy chick who writes this blog. My hope is that by sharing my FM story and experiences, I can help others with Fibromyalgia even a little bit. It’s such a huge learning curve when you are newly diagnosed with Fibromyalgia. I spent a long time learning about the condition online and as a result, I’ve been bookmarking links and saving information from all over the place.

On this site, you’ll find a list of helpful Fibromyalgia resources, a lot of them specific to Canadians. I’m also compiling a list of Canadians living with Fibromyalgia to help connect with folks just like me, seeking information and support about Fibromyalgia. So if you have a website, are Canadian, and have been diagnosed with Fibromyalgia, let me know! We can link our sites.

I’m a bit of a social media addict, so I sincerely encourage you to use Twitter, if you don’t already. I’ve met a lot of very wonderful people there who are up the odd hours I am and, of course, who are eager to send encouragement, hugs and advice on how to cope even on your very worst flare day. Facebook is also a good place to connect with others living with Fibromyalgia.

As for me, I’m a voracious bookaholic. I love reading paranormal romance, urban fantasy, fantasy and murder mysteries or cop procedurals. I probably read a few books a week now (when I can focus and am not #confuseless with pain medication or Fibro Fog). It’s my primary way to distract myself from pain. Otherwise, I am watching my fave tv shows online or playing an online game. Sure, it may sound all wonderful to be able to do “nothing” all day long. Let me tell you, it’s not all fun and games. At all. Read more about my Fibromyalgia story and find out why.

I love many genres of music, but find with my noise tolerance, I can’t listen very long. Ambient music, the kind you might hear in a yoga studio, is what I usually have on. It’s soothing and peaceful, helps me to relax some.

Lastly, but not least, I’m a crazy cat lady and live with several purebred CFA registered Manx cats. Used to breed them and wanted to start showing, but my health prevented all that. I hope to get back into it one day. You know “when I’m feeling better” lol. Yep, I’m pretty eclectic! What can I say? I’m an Aquarian with many interests. Maybe we have some things in common!

I hope you find my site helpful. Wishing you a “good” pain day. Sending happy, healing and loving energy your way :)

Sunshine and smiles,
